2
Create your first agent
Once you land on your dashboard, click Create New Agent. BotSmith instantly creates a new agent and opens the agent builder, where you can:
- Name your agent — give it a clear, recognisable name (you can change this at any time).
- Choose an AI model — pick the model that best fits your use case from the Settings tab:
Your agent is created with a sensible default configuration — a helpful customer support persona, a

Add training sources
Open the Sources tab and click Add Source. You can train your agent on any combination of the following:
- File upload — drag and drop or browse for a PDF, DOCX, or TXT file. Great for product manuals, FAQs, knowledge bases, and policy documents.
- Website URL — enter a URL and BotSmith will scrape the page content automatically. Ideal for pulling in your existing help centre, blog, or marketing site.
- Plain text — paste any text directly into the editor. Useful for quick Q&A snippets or content you haven’t published anywhere yet.
