Accessing Notification Preferences
To open your notification settings, navigate to Account Settings → Notification Preferences. Changes to email and in-app preferences are applied when you click Save Preferences at the bottom of the page. Browser push notification permissions are handled separately through your browser.In-App Notifications
In-app notifications appear inside BotSmith while you are using the product. The bell icon in the top navigation bar shows a red badge with the count of unread notifications. Two settings control in-app notifications:- Enable in-app notifications — Master toggle for all in-app alerts. When disabled, no notifications appear in the notification center.
- Notification sound — Plays an audio cue when a new notification arrives. This setting is only active when in-app notifications are enabled.
Email Notifications
Email notifications send alerts to your registered email address for key events. A master Enable email notifications toggle controls the entire email channel. When enabled, you can individually turn on or off the following event types:- New conversations — An email each time a visitor starts a new chat session with one of your agents.
- High-priority messages — Alerts for messages that have been flagged as high-priority within a conversation.
- Performance alerts — Notifications when an agent’s performance metrics fall outside normal thresholds.
- Usage warnings — Alerts when your monthly message credit consumption approaches or reaches your plan limit.
